ST1 and ST2 teaching is usually held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday morning of the month. Group work teaching will broadly cover the clinical aspects of the GP curriculum.
At group work teaching there will be the opportunity to discuss with other GP trainees, tips for the exams, help with the e-portfolio, and the chance to address any other issues that arise in training or elsewhere. The first part of these sessions is held jointly with an ST2 group, with the opportunity to share advice and experience, and the groups will be facilitated by a nominated Training Programme Director. Trainees will be given topics to prepare and present during the ST2 year.
There are many other educational opportunities available including membership for the Bath GP Education Research Trust (BGPERT), and the GP Education team are always available for help and advice, please contact us via Paula or Maria.
During ST1 the majority of posts will be hospital based, then in ST2 you will spend 6 months in General Practice.
All hospital posts have a duration of 6 months. They are subject to annual quality assurance, and we request that trainees fill in feedback forms following each post so we can ensure ongoing high standards of training. This information can be accessed via the Severn Deanery website.
